13 Reasons Why I cannot Wait to Go on Markha Valley Trek

Ever since I have heard about the greatness of Markha Valley Trek, I can't wait to go for this trek. A blend of geographical diversity and the cultural goodness, Markha Valley is a perfect choice for beginners who want to trek in Ladakh region. Although at a height of 15,000 ft, one may have acclimatization issues. 

The mountain villages, the exotic and endangered wildlife species, high altitude pastures, and being stupefied by the views of valley and mountains around; there is so much I am looking forward to on my Markha Valley Trek. The best time to do this 7-day trek is now (June to September) before the Ladakh region closes on the onset of winters.

So excited about the thought of the trek, here are 13 reasons why I cannot wait to go for Markha Valley Trek:

Can’t wait to say ‘Jullay’ and blend in the Ladakhi culture

 

Can’t wait to stay in Ladakhi homestays. The hotel room looks so mainstream in front of the cultural home.

 

Can’t’ wait to cross the river streams thanks to numerous tributaries of Zanskar River.

 

Can’t wait to hike through Hemis National Park and spot a Himalayan Marmot

Can’t wait to cross not one but two passes; Kongmaru La (5200 m) & Ganda La (4900 m)
