The entire trail of the trek is lush green and has some of the most beautiful flowers which are found along the way. The spectacular views of the Sahyadri mountains and the Machee around the fort are something you cannot miss. The Rajgad fort is huge and gives a glimpse into the cultural and religious heritage of the state. Situated in the Pune district, the Rajgad Fort is around 60 km from Pune and is built on the Murumbadevi Dongar, locally referred to as the Mountain of Goddess Murumba. The fort is too huge to be explored in a single day, thus the visitors consider an overnight stay at the Padmavati Temple on the fort to gain the best experience.
