The Dzukou valley trek is one of the most beautiful treks in Nagaland. The entire trail of this trek is covered in lush green forests and plenty of water streams. The flora and fauna found on this trek are unmatched in their beauty and charm. Some of the most picturesque locations of Nagaland are found on this trek. The Dzukou valley trek is a unique trek which takes you through several habituated villages of Nagaland and gives you an opportunity to learn about the culture of the locals. Day 1

Arrival at Dimapur and jouney to Khonoma

The day starts with your arrival at Dimapur airport. From the airport, you can take a three-hour cab ride to a little village called Khonoma. This small village is famous for its organic food market. You can spend the night here at a hotel.

Day 2

Khonoma to Seikhakie

Start early today so that you can tour the village. This village is the 'first green village in the country'. You can explore the culture and the local cuisine of this region. The warm and welcoming locals showcase the best hospitality. After a hearty lunch, you can start to trek towards the Seikhakie base camp, which is about 3 - 4 km from Khonoma village and camp overnight at Seikhakie.

Day 3

Day 3 - Seikhakie to Dzukou

Trek To Dzukou after having breakfast. This distance of about 6 km can be covered in 4 hours. On this trail, you cross the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary which is a biodiversity hot spot. After reaching the Dzukou valley, you will find yourselves surrounded by lush green landscape and water streams flowing all around. Camp overnight at Dzukou.

Day 4

Day 4 - Dzukou to Dzulekei

Start this day with an early breakfast at the Dzukou valley. A waterfall which is about 3 km from the valley comes next. This waterfall is situated in Dzulekei village. Explore this village and spend the night here.

Day 5 - Dzulekei to Dimapur

You take the road back to Dimapur and board your flights from the airport to your destination.

By Air The only airport in the region is Dimapur Airport. You can take a flight from all major airports to this airport. By Road From the Dimapur airport, you can take a cab to the base camp village of Khonoma. It takes around 3 hours to reach the village.

The cellular network is available in several patches of the trek.
