Brief Heading

The Young Explorers program is one of a kind comprehensive summer camp program developed by Bikat adventures which focuses on Physical (Agility, Coordination, Endurance, Strength), Mental ( Decision Making, Interpersonal Relation, Empathy, Problem Solving), Emotional (Self Confidence, Motivation, Initiative, Overcoming Fear of Failure) and, Social (Community Interaction, Gender Sensitization, Service Orientation) development of the participants. Camp Snow View In Sheetlakhet is a 7-day summer camp designed to focus on the children of the age group of 10 - 14 years. The camp is located in the picturesque hills of Almora. Sheetlakhet is just 30 km away from the famous tourist spot Ranikhet. The snow view camp is surrounded by snow-covered peaks and offers a breathtaking view of those peaks. The activities have been planned in such a way that the participants have fun but also take back life skills which help in shaping their personality. The activities held on this camp are rock climbing which helps in building endurance, conquers fears and helps in motivation, increases flexibility and problem Solving, jumaring which helps in overcoming fear of failure, improves patience and self-confidence, survival skill development which is a great team building activity, rappelling which helps in improving coordination (Body & mind), decision making and also reduces stress. Many more engaging activities like zip lining, monkey crossing etc. are also are a part of the activity list on the camp.


Day 1

Arrival at the camp

We reach Camp Snow View by 11:00 am. There will be an introduction session among the students and the leaders , camp introduction, rules and regulations introduction, staff introduction and rope distribution. After this tents/rooms are allotted. Followed by a lunch break is an ice breaking session. Hiking and introduction to camping in the Himalayas is the highlight of the day. After evening snacks, we play some games and enjoy. After the fun session dinner is served and a meeting between the camp leaders and students carried out. This marks the end of the first day. Lights out!

Day 2

Rock Climbing and Rope Course Day

After a wake up call at 6 am, a chhoti haazri session will be held in which the participants will have a chance to discuss their experiences or grievances from the previous day/night. After this a warm up session for the upcoming day will be held. After a hearty breakfast, the participants will have a chance to try their hand at rock climbing. The rock climbing activity will conclude by lunch and will be followed by rope course and some team building activities. By the time these activities are finished it will be time for evening snacks and tea. The Zero Zone will follow next. The participants will also get some free time in the day to relax. Evening games will entertain everyone in the camp. An early dinner followed by a meeting between the camp leaders and students will mark the end of the day.

Day 3

Jumaring and Crafting Day

The third day will start with a wake up call around 6 am. Followed by the Chhoti Hazri session and breakfast as the previous day. Jumaring activity awaits all participants after breakfast. Lunch will be followed by crafting and other team building activities. Which again will be followed by evening snacks, zero zone, free time and evening games as the last day. Dinner and lights out after the meeting will be next.

Day 4

Monkey Crossing and Rappelling Day

s day will also start early at 6 am. Followed by the Chhoti hazri and breakfast. The exciting activity of rappelling will be next. Post lunch monket crossing and team building activities will follow. The rest of the day ahead will be evening snacks, zero zone, evening games followed by dinner, team meeting and lights out.

Day 5

Survival Skill Development Day

Another early day at the camp will be followed by breakfast. After which skill development session in which tent pitching, wood collecting, fire making and food making will be taught. After all the students have been taught the above mentioned skills, the team will go for survival walk. The students will have a chance to try their hands at the activities they learned earlier in the day. After returning to the camps, dinner will be served. Bonfire will be another highlight of the day. Team meeting and lights off will follow.

Day 6

Zip Line and Talent Night Day

This special day will start early and the participants will have an outing and some refreshments. Post which breakfast will be served after returning to the camp. Exciting zip line activity will be held next. Post lunch then team building activities and preparation of talent night will be done. Evening snacks and zero zone will be next. Talent Night will be held next, where all the students will have a cahnec to showcase the best of their talents and enjoy the night. Dinner, team meeting and lights out will follow.

Day 7

Final Day

The last day at the camp will start around 7 am. The participants shall pack their bags and ensure that they take all their belongings back home. The last breakfast of the camp will be served next. BPL( Bikat Premiere League) will be next on the activity list. Sharing and Thanks ceremony will be held next. Followed by a feedback session. To mark the end of a fabulous week a group photo of all the participants, team leaders and staff will be taken. Post the photo session lunch will be served and finally all the participants will assemble. The group will be escorted to the bus for the final departure.

Eligibility: Is this summer camp good for me?

The Sheetlakhet summer camp i.e. Camp Snow View is ideal for the kids of ages 10 - 14 years. Kids will have a chance to engage in new activities and connect with nature and their surroundings. Apart from fun activities, the kids will also be able to learn and enhance their physical, social, mental and emotional intelligence. The summer camps are the best way to get children out their beds and off their devices.

Miscellaneous : What is BPL(Bikat Premier League)?

A program on the last day of the summer camp in which some performances and competitions will be held.

Miscellaneous : What is Chhoti Haazri?

A session in which all the feedbacks and grievances of the participants will be addressed by the camp leaders.

Miscellaneous : Are cell phones allowed on the summer camp?

No cell phones will be allowed on the camp.

Zero Zone will be a time zone for reflection and meditation for the participants.

  • Our group sizes on treks don’t exceed 15 members in order to maintain a healthy Participants : Leader Ratio of 8:1.
  • Over time we have found this number to be optimum when it comes to ensuring personalised attention to every member of our group.
  • On mountaineering expeditions this number is even smaller. Our group sizes are capped at 12 members ensuring a Participants : HAP Ratio of 2:1.

  • Our Expedition leaders are advanced mountaineering course qualified, specially trained in rescue procedures from NIM and certified first-aid responders.
  • Even our local guides are certified first-aid responders.
Eco-friendly Practices
  • Group sizes are capped at 15 people.
  • Batch sizes are capped at 250 people per trail per season.
  • We follow a rolling campsite model.
  • We are constantly exploring and introducing new trails to reduce the burden on existing ones.

For us, a successful summit is not about reaching the highest point of a mountain but about making it safely back to base.
